Install the setup file, configure and register¶

Install the setup file of Google Earth Pro, configure Bing map and register to the Google Earth Engine perform according to the following procedure. These include:

Install the setup file of Google Earth Pro:

To install Google Earth Pro, go to the following link (https://www.google.com/earth/versons) and download the setup file. After downloading the GoogleEarthProSetup.exe setup file, install the Google Earth Pro as shown in Figure 1. These include:

1. The Installing window open.
2. The setup file run.
3. When the setup file is complete, click Close.
4. Google Earth Pro is ready to use on computer desktop screen.

Configure Bing map in the ArcMap: To install Bing map's ArcBruTile on ArcMap, go to the following link (https://www.mediafire.com/file/h99l8bn57ehh957/ArcBruTile.rar/file) and download the setup file. After downloading the ArcBruTileSetup.msi setup file, configure the Bing map’s ArcBruTile utility as shown in Figure 2. These include:

1. To right-click the ArcBruTileSetup.msi setup file and select Install.
2. The ArcBruTile 0.3.4 window open and click Next.
3. The ArcBruTile 0.3.4 setup file is created in the C:\Program Files (x86)\CodePlex\ArcBruTile 0.3.4 folder.
4. To select Just me.
5. To click Next.
6. When the setup file is complete, click Close.
7. Bing map’s ArcBruTile tool is ready to use.

Register to Google Earth Engine:

1. Go to https://code.earthengine.google.com
2. If you don’t have a Google account, click ‘create account’, otherwise login with your Google account.
3. Earth Engine will now request access to your Google account, click ‘allow’.
4. Click the link to go to the registration page, fill out the application and submit.
5. After you receive your ‘Welcome to Google Earth Engine!’ email, you will be able to login using your Google account on https://code.earthengine.google.com

Select the study area¶

In Output 4 of the CBIT project, Tuv province was selected according to the task of processing high-resolution imagery in one province (Figure 3). Features of Tuv province mention as: Geographical location:

• Tuv province locates in the central part of Mongolia and its total territory is 74,042.37 square kilometers.
• The territory of Tuv province includes the Ulaanbaatar capital city of Mongolia. Geographical formation:
• It is 1200-1500 meters in height above sea level.
• It includes Khentii Mountains, Zaamar Mountain, Zorgol Mountain, and Khustai Range/Mountain.
• By geographical location, it involves in Khangai and Khentii mountain region and Eastern Mongolia steppe-region.
• 16.4 percent of its total territory is forest and 36.5 percent is steppe-region.
• Wide valleys of mountains in the northern part of the province have dark brown soils for agriculture and the southern part of the province is steppe with small and high hills.
